A rich, sparkling plate of matrix is festooned with flat laying, ball-like clusters of olmiite on this showy and sparkling large specimen from the circa-2000 finds at the Kalahari Manganese Fields. When these were found, people could not believe it. The species ceased to be rare overnight. There were many. BUT that was 20-plus years ago and they are in short supply now. This is a large, showy plate with sparkling clusters to 2.6 cm, spread out all over the display face. Some of the red-orange clusters have "burnt" brownish edges in contrast. It is very difficult to photograph these, and even in videos, they change in different lights and lighting angles. Better in person! This was collected by official license from mine owner Des Sacco by Paul Balayer and purchased from him many years later.
