Olmiite from a few huge pockets found at the N'Chwaning 2 Mine in the early 2000s literally redefined the species and opened it up to all levels of collectors. This is from the early 2000s finds and came out of a stash we bought that was long held back from sale at the time they came out by Paul Balayer and Desmond Sacco. Paul is the experienced miner and specimen-finding wizard who dug many of them with permitted approval from Sacco, who actually owns the mines (and much of the Kalahari Manganese Fields as well). This particular specimen is a fine plate with a three-dimensional display of sharp crystals to 1.2 cm. The color and luster are really nice, although we should point out that the color definitely changes over the spectrum form red to pink to brown depending on fluorescent or LED lighting, and perhaps looks better in sunlight.
