Quite distinctive, this first-rate cabinet sized combination of Olmiite and Calcite is from the famous N'Chwaning II Mine, which is the TYPE LOCALITY for Olmiite. The Olmiite crystals have developed into highly lustrous, translucent, and beige spherical aggregates up to 1 cm, and they richly cover much of this cabinet specimen. Associated are drusy and sparkly Calcite crystals, which creates a nice contrast in both color and form. Both species fluoresce, with the Calcite being a soft orange and the Olmiites have an amazingly intense, orange-red fluorescence. This excellent piece showcases this particular habit for Olmiite very well but more than that, it has a weird organic and sculptural look to it that makes it visually appealing.
