A huge amount of cobalt-rich calcite specimens, in varying shades of baby pink to neon-pink and everything in between, came out of Morocco for a good period around 2010-2015 mostly. We saw, and bought, many. Out of all of those, this special display-sized specimen would be said to have among the most intense color saturation as any that we saw, even when they were coming out. The color is ridiculous - it is so saturated and vibrant that it looks fake. Also, these are real, 3-dimensional crystals with shape and depth to them, instead of the usual flat carpet or drusy coating. These crystals, like somewhat rounded mushrooms in style, are all translucent as well. It stands out for not only the color but also the crystal shape, making it a special item, to my eyes much more collectible and unique than most of the rest.
