Gem topaz from this region has been known for years, in large part due to the efforts of one dealer who went there starting in the early 1970s, Herb Obodda. This is from Herb's old dealer stock, which we bought out, and probably dates back decades. It is a jewel-like cluster of stunning champagne-colored topaz crystals with superb luster, accented by sharply-bladed cleavelandite crystals. It has a good 3-dimensional shape, overall, and splays out from a common center very dramatically. While the locality is still producing, this is better quality than most of what I see come to market in terms of glassiness, clarity, and overall aesthetics.
