Clustered aesthetically in an open vug are several glassy and translucent, amber-brown-colored crystals of topaz to 2.5 cm in length. This is a phenomenal example of this style of topaz from Mexico, from a very remote and difficult locality. Most crystals are loose singles, or a few jumbled broken pieces in matrix. A fine specimen like this, with so many freestanding crystals of gem quality, is very uncommon! These are so gemmy that you can look right through them, to the matrix beneath! Combined with aesthetics and quantity of topaz here, this has to be among the best in size class, and these date to the 1980s or earlier so there are not more coming out to be had.
