Classic floater, translucent to transparent garnet crystal from this unique and interesting discovery, which has produced a number of pockets starting in the early 2000's. When strongly backlit, they glow like a crystallized red cherry. The subtle and complex patterns of the surface are mesmerizing. If you have ever held one in your hand, you know what I mean. It is also very hard to photograph or backlight here, compared to holding it in the hand, so these are always better in person. This is an excellent example in the size range, with unusually good crystal shape. Too many of them look "over-etched" whereas this retains an overall crystal shape to it. Much more 3-dimensional in person.
