From one of the famous alpine garnet occurrences in Italy comes this cute and very aesthetic "Lollipop" thumbnail Garnet-Diopside specimen. Dark brown, lustrous Garnet crystals grew in parallel to form this attractive compound 2 cm-wide crystal that is elegantly perched on a stalk of Diopside crystals. The complex garnet is dominated by lustrous, diamond-shaped, dodecahedral faces that easily reflect any incident light! The tight sheaf of prismatic Diopside crystals provide an elegant pedestal to display cute Andradite cluster. No damage to the display side; however, the rear of the piece is contacted where it was naturally attached in the pocket. Formerly in the well-known worldwide garnet collection of Bill Larson (which I bought long ago), displayed prominently for 20 years or more at his store in Fallbrook, California. This is a superb thumbnail, dramatic in display.
