Diopside in large and sharp crystals are rare from anywhere. This particular crystal came from an early 2000s find in China, in a remote locality that seems not to have produced anything since. By that time, I was collecting Chinese minerals for my personal collection and bought this sharp specimen, without damage or repair, from what was at the time the best find of the crystals from China and remains so. However, I did not have the funds to buy the largest examples from that find, one of which recently came into my hands. Therefore, I am letting this go out now (simply at what I paid). Even if you went to China and looked in the museums, they do not have these. It seems all were exported to the USA and predominantly sold by one dealer at the time. From my personal collection, and comes with engraved custom base.
