Large, prismatic, pseudo-tetragonal, columnar single crystal of diopside that may be one of the largest fine examples of this species found from Pakistan to date. The lower two-thirds of the crystal is opaque to translucent greenish yellow that transitions gemmy to translucent, brown-green cap and the prism faces have a satin to vitreous luster and are slightly striated. The termination is largely glassy with fine striations. The crystal is in excellent condition and there is contact on the backside where there is an impression of a former diopside crystal. Ex. Gene Meieran collection. This crystals is far beyond others we have seen, and was long in the notable Pakistani minerals collection of Dr. Gene Meieran.
