Cluster of highly lustrous gemmy amber-orange-cinnamon colored, pseudo-rhombic but dodecahedral crystals. From Alex's notes: Self-collected at an elevation of 6,214 feet mid-August 1978 with permission of lease holder, Bart Cannon (Des Hines and Gil Newman claim). Hiked to the exposed outcrop, otherwise only accessible by helicopter for just 6-8 weeks in the summer due to snow cover. this specimen has crystals over 1 cm, inclusters to just over 2 cm across. John Lindell, who has mined this deposit for many years said this specimen holds one of the largest crystals he has seen, although a few “Crystals to over 2.5 cm have been found.” See article on the mine in Rocks & Minerals, 66(6), 478-482, 1991.
