Barite is highly unusual from the Broken Hill mines! This is an old piece from a single famous pocket. Lustrous, bladed rosettes of amber colored barite, to 2.3 cm in length, are emplaced on a matrix of faintly pink, manganoan calcite. Ex. Milton Lavers collection, to Sielecki (formerly he paid over 6000 British pounds for it as a locality collector...!)
