Barbusi, Carbonia, Carbonia-Iglesias Province, Sardinia, Italy
Cabinet, 9.7 x 8.2 x 2.9 cm

Large and complex, this crystal of Baryte is an exceptional single for the locality. The color is a pleasant moss green, with good luster and a clarity which ranges from translucent to slightly gemmy. There are a few blue phantoms near the outer edge, and the Baryte is adorned with at least two generations of Aragonite, both very different in habit and appearance. This is a fine and impressive cabinet specimen for the "Sa corona 'e sa craba" location within this old mining district. Aesthetic, dramatic, and in exceptional condition for the size.
