Quartz, Muscovite
Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil
Small Cabinet, 8.1 x 6.3 x 3.8 cm
This is one of the nicer pieces from a thus far very small find of gemmy quartz crystals on translucent yellow muscovite crystals (rather than the flaky mica type we are accustomed to). The large quartz crystal measures 7.5 cm and is doubly-terminated! (The back terminations of the quartzes are healed). I have only seen a couple dozen specimens thus far, probably from a single pocket, and picked the best of them. This was early in 2005. 8.1 x 6.3 x 3.8 cm
