A HISTORICAL, gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated tourmaline from the famous Mt. Mica of Paris, Maine. This tourmaline has four color stages of teal-blue to green in its length. One end of the crystal has multiple terminations, while the other end is flattened, matte-black. According to the James Zigras label, this superb specimen was mined by Loren Merrill, who owned the rights to operate Mt. Mica from the 1890's to early 1910's.
