Beryl (Var: Aquamarine)
Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Cabinet, 10.4 x 4.1 x 3.0 cm
WOW! I think the pics pretty much say it all...this is a classic heyday-of-Pakistan specimen from the late 1980's (see the Tucson 1988 show poster for a similar example) that is just amazingly impressive in person. It is pristine, and complete 360 degrees all around. It has, if anything, better luster in person and a rich blue hue that is near the top of the aqua color scale. This specimen had one loose crystal (a minor one in the back as I would display the piece) which wiggled off and has been reattached simply because it could be done so cleanly and easily. The piece looks fine without it, though, and the contact is clean, if you wish to remove that little crystal (lowermost crystal in upper-right picture). Weight=244 grams 10.4 x 4.1 x 3 cm
