This is a particularly elegant example of the richly colored, intense green-blue adamite specimens that came out a few years ago (perhaps 2020-21) from the famous Laurium mining district in Greece. Most of the specimens were flat plates without such depth of color or shape, but this is a ridge-like, deeply dimensional specimen with real character. The color is intense, surprising for the species, and more reminiscent of smithsonite than of adamite. In person, it has a stunning and highly saturated color combined with a sparkly surface that is hard to convey in photos, as if it was dipped in sugar. Surely one of the best in size class, and from the private collection of a Greek dealer.
