Gleaming, intense layer of Cuprian Adamite in sharp crystals, from the famed Hilarion Mine in the ancient Lavrion District. These crystals are quite uniform in size, reaching up to about 6 mm across, as they richly cover the gossan matrix. Superb luster highlights both the beautiful, turquoise-blue color and the crystalline form, as the edges of these gemmy crystals stand out sharply along the surfaces of the clusters. Collected in 2022, it displays wonderfully and clearly shows why Lavrion was, and still is, one of Europe's most heralded districts. This is one of the most exceptional of the larger pristine pieces from the pocket for saturated color, luster, and condition. It was kept back when the rest was sold to us and others in late 2022. We were honored to buy this fabulous Greek collection, assembled as the private collection by a longtime dealer who grew up collecting and digging personally for decades there. The Adamite suite, highlighted by this specimen, was one of the main reasons for the purchase.
