This is literally THE classic style of an old "rope silver" specimen from Kongsberg in Norway. It screams "Kongsberg" in style, and is a choice miniature size that is more robust and space-filling in person. It is a historic piece; it came from an older British Collection (Bob King) and then sold during The Russell Society annual auction in 2011, which Cal Graeber attended as he was in England mining the Rogerley fluorite. He returned home from his English summer and sold it to his friend in the San Diego area, Tim Sherburn. According to its website, The Russell Society is a national group of both amateur and professional mineralogists that encourages the study, recording, and conservation of mineralogical sites, material, and minerals.
