- Silver on Quartz
- Miniature, 4.0 x 3.6 x 2.5 cm
- Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department, Peru
Beautiful, elongated and elegant spinel-twinned silver crystals set in elaborate, comb-like parallel growth off of two, central, elongated crystals. These gorgeous, complex silvers have superb luster and dendritic form, and together they look like a set of feathers. This is an exquisite miniature silver that has to rank among the top examples for this style worldwide (known only from a few localities), especially for this Peruvian locality. Very aesthetic! It is delicate but sturdy, at the same time. For the size range, I have seen only spindly silvers from Peru in recent years, of this habit, and none so aesthetic. Purchased in Munich from a dealer who had just brought it out of Peru in 2016.
