Aquamarines have proven to be one of the most desired and sought-after minerals from the storied Erongo Mountains of Namibia, found in so many styles here. This is a weird mix of colors, some people call "Aquador" as a mix of aquamarine and heliodor beryls. Most often lustrous and gemmy, as you would expect, there have been a few finds in which the Aquas have developed a unique, distinctive, and very attractive habit. As you see here, the slender Aqua crystals are translucent rather than gemmy, and they are two-toned with the terminations and prisms a sharply different shade. This variation in the crystals is engaging, and adds much to the visual and mineralogical interest. The largest crystal reaches about 1.9 cm, and the sheer number and quality of the Aqua sprays on the jet-black Schorl matrix creates a SUPERB aesthetic.
