In 1988-1989, a spectacular, one-off, unique pocket of gem calcites were found in the so-called butterfly-pocket, at this remote northern iron mine in Northern Sweden, and extracted by geologist and collector, author-and-speaker many times over, Peter Lyckberg. All the pieces of this quality and condition on market came from his collection, and he has slowly sold them off over the years. This is a single gem crystal with top top golden-honey color, clarity, and luster. It does not get better than this in terms of outright quality. It is sharply tapered, with no damage except a few tiny internal veils on the back, and a small side contact on a back face. The bottom is contact-terminated, where it grew against another crystal. These are like mineral candy, almost impossible to obtain on the market in this quality and condition.
