Another colorful Fluorite-Sulfide species combo from Peru. Numerous, gemmy to translucent, rich sea-green, octahedrons of Fluorite are festooned along the front of this handsome piece highlighted by bright Pyrite crystals along with some small, dark grayish Sphalerite crystals here and there. The Fluorites are dominated by octahedral forms with only some minor cube faces developed on some crystals. They range in size from 1 to 2 cm and and all of them, at least on the display front, are lustrous and mostly transparent many showing some subtle geometric growth patterns on their faces. The brassy yellow Pyrite crystals on this piece are all pyritohedrons and vary in size from 1 to 3.5 mm and are associated with dark, gray-brown 2 to 5 mm Sphalerite crystals and they all contrast nicely with the sea-green Fluorite. The gray-white Quartz serves as the matrix for the piece which all of these minerals are deposited. This is a great looking combo piece that sits well on its own for display, with startling color from any fluorite locality - let alone, for Peru. From a 2020 pocket.
