Peru produced some of the finest examples, perhaps the finest, of several species of copper minerals in a few surprising finds in the mid 2010's, including the world's best clinoatacamite crystals and some amazing atacamite and brochantite as well. Here, we have at least a dozen isolated clusters of lustrous, dark-green Clinoatacamite crystals that are nicely perched on contrasting matrix of sparkling, Chrysocolla-infused Quartz. The glistening Clinoatacamite clusters range from 0.5 to 1 cm in size. The colorless to translucent white drusy Quartz glistens in any incident light. In places the Quartz covers green botryoids Malachite for wonderful effect! This is one of the few small cabinet sized examples from the find that we obtained at the time, to be aesthetic and without much damage. It has unusual isolation to the sharp clusters of the rare species, Clinoatacamite, beautiful display overall, and a sparkle to it that make it a rare case of a display-quality rare species. They have not been found since, in this quality.
