Here is an extraordinary and colorful, thick, robust blue, doubly-terminated, Burmese Sapphire crystal that has perfect textbook hexagonal symmetry. This 12.5 gram Sapphire crystal measures 3.5 cm in length and 1.6 cm across at the middle. It exhibits a rich medium blue color with a subtle satin luster from being slightly water worn, yet still shows the horizontal striations on all the pyramid faces perpendicular to its length. Note that these natural variations are important because they prove it was not heated and treated for color enhancement, as so many are. It is entirely natural! Despite being just a little water worn, the faces and edges are quite sharp for this material, with a fine pointed termination on one end. The other is nearly intact with only the very point compromised. It is very translucent to transparent throughout its entire length and displays a sublime medium Sapphire blue throughout much of the body. Taken together with size and shape, an excellent Sapphire crystal from Burma!
