Coming from a new specimen mining project started in 2017, these fluorites from the Diana Maria mine represent some of the finest gem fluorite specimens recovered from the Rogerley quarry in its 50 year history. Twinned, gemmy green fluorites to 1.7 cm across completely cover one side of this specimen. Some crystals are partially dissolved on the surface, creating an interesting "frosted" look for the crystals surrounding the gemmy crystals in the middle of the specimen. In indirect sunlight, these fluorites turn a vivid blue-green color and the effect is amplified in UV light with the crystals becoming a uniform blue-purple color. The Queen of Green pocket has produced some of the best fluorites to date in regards to color and luster. There is minimal damage to the periphery crystals due to extraction and trimming processes. These new specimens are a modern classic and would be a fantastic addition to any collection! We are pleased to announce that we made a sizable purchase of the stashed material from this find, which had been put away before COVID, and are now able to offer them years later and at half the original asking prices!
