Red Beryl
Wah Wah Mountains, Utah, USA
Miniature, 4.1 x 4.1 x 2.6 cm
SOLD

This is a very significant and absolutely breathtaking crystal cluster of gemmy, intensely saturated Red Beryl on rhyolite matrix from Utah. One large, very gemmy crystal and six smaller ones make up the cluster and there is one small, nearby outlier. The big, lustrous, deep gooseberry red crystal measures 1.9 x 1.1 x 0.6 cm, and is complete and mostly gem with terminations that just glow! The adjoining cluster of similarly gorgeous crystals have individuals that range in size from 3 to 7 mm, all of them perfectly terminated with fabulous color and luster. There is only some very minor fracturing in the large crystal. The red color is caused by trace amounts of manganese in the crystal structure, and this area is the only place in the world that produces these uniquely colored beryls. They are also incredibly rare and no more are mined today of any significance. This miniature-sized specimen with its imposing cluster of crystals is dramatic, well composed, well balanced, and gorgeous. It has the rich color you want most in these and stands out in a display with more impact than most specimens. It is natural without repairs or restoration.
