This is one marvelous monster of an Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from Brazil! It's nearly seven inches in length, three inches in width and glows a glorious dark sparkling green around its edges. The crystal has a very complex, compound termination and even its prism "faces" are complex and compound resulting in deeply furrowed "striations" developed parallel to its length. The periphery of this giant crystal reveals the intense green color along its length along the crystal's ridges between the furrows. There is some chatter along the length of the crystal in places as well as some contacting near the base and there is a clean break at the bottom where it was removed from the pocket. A big, bold crystal with a mass of an amazing 1.69 kilograms! This is an old specimen of a classic style for this location, offered at a relatively wholesale price per kilo to move it for a friend. Majestic as it is, it is simply too big for the current owner to keep with smaller tourmalines in the same case - but it is surely right for somebody's impact collection!
