Pyrite after Pyrrhotite pseudomorphs are sparkly classics from this locality in Mexico and this specimen is quite attractive given its pointed, shimmering metallic crystals with the prominent one measuring 3.7 cm in length. This piece features a cluster of 0.5 to 1.7 cm, barrel-shaped, randomly oriented Pyrite to Pyrrhotite pseudomorphs at the base with the larger, tapered crystal rising dramatically up from the back of the piece. It also hosts a small Calcite blade near the termination. All of the pseudomorphs on this piece glisten a metallic brassy yellow from all of the tiny Pyrite crystals on the exterior of these Pyrite after Pyrrhotite pseudomorphs. Ex. Gary Weaver collection with label.
