As with so many thumbnails in the very elite collections of lifetime thumbnail collectors, some of the best might be common species from common localities, because this shows the difference between having merely "small specimens" that are representative and fill a hole or a species count versus a truly fine thumbnail of value to competition-level crazy people because it STANDS OUT. This superb thumbnail is a perfect example of this difference between a specimen that is merely TN sized, and one that is great. It is dramatic, eye-catching, and different in composition from all others I have seen in this size. It immediately draws the eye. While there are thousands of these crystals, few are so appealing in overall form, AND this just happens to be a full thumbnail size. Houran collection, from finds circa 2017-2018.
