Perched aesthetically on a baryte matrix is a superbly crystallized octahedron of glassy and translucent, dark cherry red cuprite, measuring 1.5 cm in length. There are also a few small cuprite crystals present. From Wayne Thompson's inventory back in 1992, which is rare since he does not generally deal in thumbnails unless they are true killers. For sharpness and shape, this is a competitive specimen. Few exist in this size range, that are not simply loose singles. With the perch on matrix, that takes this to a more sophisticated level for thumbnail specimens.
