This mine has produced the most famous cherry-red cuprites in modern times, many people consider, for sheer impact. This is a rare small miniature/large thumbnail example with stunning red color. Although this cuprite specimen is contacted on the back side and periphera, it is typical of the locality as they were removed from matrix and few good matrix pieces exist. It is very glassy and gemmy with a rich cherry red color when backlit. The two intergrown crystals have formed one continuous glassy face that brings out the incredible color. Unusual, and rare among cuprites, this is a very impressive piece for what it is.
