Classic, lustrous Baryte blades aesthetically and richly cover the top of the Dolomite matrix. The crystals reach up to 3.2 cm, and they have a light, bluish-yellow color and excellent luster. As with the Dolomites, there is an attractive Hematite tinting. This piece displays well from both sides, and only one minor crystal in the back was cleaved. The Barytes, overall, are in excellent condition. A classic Frizington Baryte, this fine, old-time specimen from the historic iron mines of Cumbria is almost certainly over 100 years old. Due to the distinct shape and gemmy style, it is nearly certain to be from the Palaflats Mine.
