A rare hydrated copper arsenate characterized in 1995. This piece is showy and outstanding for the species; it originates from the type locality in France. The turquoise blue yvonite mounds on silver-gray arsenopyrite and native bismuth matrix resulting in a striking contrast. Minor puchcharovskite in association. Named after Professor Klaus Yvan, Crystallography Department, University of Geneva Switzerland.
