This is an impressive 3.1 cm Hessonite, perched on smaller Hessonites, with a rich, deep orange color. The striations on the faces are classic, and greatly add to the appeal. There is some contacting on the back, but that is to be expected from this hard-rock mining. A very good Garnet toenail from any locale, but especially for this area. This is from a small find or finds, a few years ago. It is a classy, really impactful miniature with elegance. Most specimens from this find were rather blocky, and not separated nicely.
