Fluorite
Nagar, Hunza Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Small Cabinet, 7.3 x 5.7 x 5.0 cm
Ex. Wally Mann
SOLD
Perched majestically atop a matrix of pearlescent muscovite crystals, to 1 cm across, is a pristine, lustrous and gemmy, rich pink colored fluorite crystal. It is 3.3 cm in length and complete all-around. The crystal fluoresces a lovely lavender color. Ex. Wallace Mann collection. (yes folks, Wally wrote that description above...). I just exchanged this piece from the collection of Wally Mann, in Dallas. It is not a large piece, but it is one of the most balanced and pretty examples of a matrix Pakistani pink fluorite that I have seen, and I had long liked it. The color is more saturated than most such crystals, and it just "glows" in a well-lit case. Recent finds of pink fluorite from Pakistan have gone for sizable sums, although they were admittedly larger crystals as well. This is one of the few good examples with actual decent color, in a great size for most collectors, that is affordable without sacrificing quality.
