Rosasite and Cerussite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Cabinet, 12.0 x 8.0 x 3.5 cm
SOLD
Large, attractive cabinet specimen composed of two-tone Rosasite and lustrous, gemmy Cerussite crystals. The Rosasite is either a deep forest-green, which are the terminations of radial acicular needles up to 10 mm, or a light, complex crust composed of partially terminated needles. This lighter Rosasite has a much higher luster, and the contrast between the two is appealing as the colors and habit complement each other. Scattered on the surface are several gemmy Cerussite crystals which range up to 9 mm. These Cerussites have very good luster and nice form. Overall, a very good combination piece from the world's greatest mine (ditto on that for all of these!)
