An uncommon New Mexico amethyst specimen purchased by collector Dave Stoudt at the Socorro Symposium of 2003. The crystals, to 2.5 cm, have pretty purple tips and milky bottoms. The quartz matrix was sliced flat on the bottom for removal, so the specimen sits up nicely.
