George Fisher had a very notable collection of Colorado specimens and was renowned for his field collecting and explorations. This large, extremely fine cluster of amazonite crystals has the distinction not only of having been in his collection, but also of having been collected personally by him in 1970 according to the label (from Collectors Edge, which bought the collection around 2001 and passed a large part on to me). The crystals have gorgeous color, with white color selectively grown on some side faces, giving it a pretty striped appearance. There is no damage to the crystals - Fisher apparently took great care in getting this specimen out in good shape for his collection.
