This is simply a 3-dimensional and beautifully colored, a classic Amazonite specimen from one of the better known pegmatite districts in Colorado, which was collected by Bob Bartsch and Rock Currier. The pegmatites near the Crystal Peak area of Colorado have produced some fine Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and this is a great example for aa small cabinet specimen. This piece has a half dozen sharp, semi lustrous, well-formed, rich blue-green crystals laying in a slightly divergent arrangement at a relatively shallow angle of display. It LOOKS kinetic and dramatic. All of the crystals are in perfect condition and only contacted at the bottom where removed from the pegmatite pocket. This was self-collected in 1982 by Rock with his predeceased friend and collecting buddy Bob Bartsch, and Bob is often credited with discovering the pocket (and certainly between them, they kept all the best). Remarkably, this has no repairs, unusual for this material.
