This is a large, nearly-gem quality tsavorite garnet on matrix! It measures one centimeter from side-to-side and top-to-bottom, and is about half a centimeter in thickness. The weight is estimated at around 6 carats! These have become nearly impossible to get in matrix - they are so much rarer than diamonds, or even rubies, that there is no comparison. The faces of this crystal are sharp and glassy. The transparency and brightness are just amazing!
