Miniature, 4.5 x 3.8 x 2.3 cm
Traversella Mine, Traversella, Chiusella Valley, Canavese District, Torino Province, Piedmont, Italy
A very beautiful, gemmy colorless scalenohedral crystal of Calcite not unlike good quality English Calcites. This is a rather unusual specimen for this locality, and is truly the first I've seen. The label confirms its origin and in my mind, this Alpine specimen is truly one of the most unique I've seen from Italy. A great piece for any Calcite collector. 4.5 x 3.8 x 2.3cm
