A gorgeous 1980s-era specimen from the famous Denton mine, with stunning crystals of deeply colored phantoms to 3 or 4 cm, accented by little jewels of calcite crystals! Minor chalcopyrite is also present on and in the fluorites, as inclusions. Overall, it is so sharp and geometric, the combination of razor sharp edges and colored phantoms really draws the eye. It displays all around, and can be shown at several angles, although we chose the one you see here as mounted on a custom base. It had no significant damage, despite the size, but it did have a few small dings on edges which we have filled with epoxy at the laboratory, so this has a few very very minor restorations (as do so many on the market - whether disclosed or not). One of the big surprises when we unpacked the worldwide collection of Kurt Hefendehl, who was based in Germany, was a small suite of choice, finely phantomed fluorites from Illinois that he bought in the 1980s-1990s heyday of this district, that is now closed. This was the best overall specimen in his suite, notable for size and color but more for a combination of species that makes it stand out. A strong fluorescence is a bonus.
