Resplendent, intense example of Cuprian Adamite from the storied Hilarion Mine. This miniature consists of highly lustrous, deep mint-green, spherical aggregates measuring up to 8 mm across, on matrix. These GEMMY clusters cover much of the Gossan matrix, and provide an excellent contrast in both form and color. The eagle-eyed among you will notice a small amount of white Aragonite, an associated mineral indicative of the locality. Collected in 2022, it displays wonderfully and clearly shows why Lavrion was, and still is, one of Europe's most heralded districts. In fact, I still find it hard to wrap my mind around the fact that mining at Lavrion dates all the way back to the Bronze Age, yet it is still producing quality, aesthetic specimens. Amazing!
