A complex garnet crystal from a famous Namibian location that almost, maybe, is a sceptered crystal — although you do not expect scepters in garnet. This is one of the most unique demantoid garnet specimens we have seen, for the overall shape. It is gemmy, strongly colored, and a superb thumbnail for this classic locality, but it is the shape that stands out the most. This has long been in the well known African-specialized suite of the Carl Acosta collection, and makes for a competitive level thumbnail.
