Dioptase and Calcite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
Miniature, 4.3 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm
SOLD

Here is a very attractive, sparkling Dioptase miniature from Tsumeb (mid-1980s era finds) composed of lustrous, deep-green Dioptase crystals on white Calcite. There is good isolation between the Dioptase crystals that range between 1 and 6 mm, in general, however, there are two prominent, larger, richly colored colored crystals measuring 1 and 1.7 cm, respectively on opposing corners of this attractive piece. All of the Dioptase crystals are super lustrous, gemmy and very well formed. They are set on a druse of 2 to 4 mm, white Calcite rhombs for the ultimate contrast that this locality is known for. The Calcite also happens to fluoresce a bright red-pink in short wave UV!
