This fine miniature of glassy, unusually sparkly danburite features two vastly different crystals in an unusual contrast. The smaller crystal is almost totally covered by a colorless druse of quartz while the larger crystal, measuring 5 cm in length, is glassy and gemmy throughout, and totally limpid. This piece is a study in contrast, and the shocking sparkle of one side really does offset the extra gemminess and glassiness of the other. We have seen thousands of Charcas danburite, but none quite like this special miniature.
