Sapat Gali is a now-classic locality that has produced the world's best crystals of Peridot, by far. The color here is a very rich, lime-green and the crystal is highlighted by rare, acicular, hair-like inclusions of Ludwigite, a rare magnesium-iron borate. This is a substantial and aesthetic Peridot crystal that is essentially total gem (easier to tell in person because of the great color saturation), has very good luster, and excellent form. It is contacted at the base of course, with the crystal complete otherwise and in excellent condition. Admittedly, these Peridots have come out for years, but this type is just different, it is more vibrant in color overall, and with a great termination compared to most. The gem weight of this beauty is 22.4 grams. From the thumbnail collection of Irv Brown of San Diego.
