Aesthetic and engaging, this cluster of gemmy apatite crystals is from the high Alpine-type deposits of the Alchuri Valley in Pakistan. The Apatites are gemmy, highly lustrous, and complex. Intergrown from end-to-end, the largest of these glassy crystals is 2.2 cm. This attractive small-cabinet piece is one of the better such clusters I have seen from here in the size range. You know it is from here, due to the small inclusions of actinolite, which are distinct to specimens from this region and from Austria - but those do not form such vertical clusters as we see here. A beautiful specimen of classic finds here, from the early 2000s.
