Doubly terminated, lustrous with a rich lemon-peel yellow color, this thumbnail-sized legrandite crystal is a fine example of the species; but more than that it is a competitive level thumbnail because of the depth of color saturation and the unusual, fully formed, sharp termination. Few legrandite crystals have a proper termination, as most end with etched or splayed tips, like feather dusters rather than like the usual sharp crystal. That termination on this makes all the difference between the normal legrandite thumbnail, and something special. This was long in the collection of Larry Conklin, dating it to the 1980s era. As a bonus, it is really much more translucent than the usual, with gem zones within.
